Eating home made bread is realy a nice experience. I always wanted 2 try baking a bread at home once. So last week i decided to give a try. I like working with yeast, i just love 2 c the dough which rises and becomes double. They turned out very soft inside. I wanted bit crispy outside so i baked them bit longer. We enjoyed this bread. I had a very good experience baking a bread so i am sharing the recipe here.
INGREDIENTS:
3 cups maida( all purpose flour)
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup warm milk
3 tea spoon active dry yeast
3 tea spoon sugar
1 tea spoon salt
4 table spoon butter
METHOD:
Mix sugar and yeast in warm water and keep closed for 10 mins, till it gets forth. This measn the yeast are become active.
Seive maida and salt together. Take it ina bowl. Add the yeast water and milk and kne dit into a soft dough. Now add 2 table spoon of melted butter and kned again for 10 mins minimum to form a soft dough.Kneding well is very important to get soft bread.
Keep this dough ball in a bowl. Cover it with a soft muslin cloth. Keep it untouched for 60-80 mins.Grease a baking tray and keep aside.
After one hour the dough will become double in size.Punch it down gently and make equal sized balls with the dough and place it on the baking tray about 1/2 an inch apart a shown below.
Cover the tray and keep it untouched for more 60-90 mins. The balls will become double in size. the edges will be joined as shown below. Make smooth balls for good finish. As it was m first try i had not made those balls that smooth so shape is not that perfect , but next time i vl surely give it a good shape.
Now preaheat the oven at 190 deg celsius or 375 F. Place the baking tray in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes until the bread is baked to a nice brown color on top.Remove from oven, when you tap the top of the bread it will be a little hard and sound a bit hollow, apply a little butter on top and bake for another couple of minutes.
Fresh home made bread is ready. Enjoy it with pav bhaji or other things.
NOTE:Bake the bread according to your choice. If you want crispy bread bake it bit longer and if you want soft laddi pav used for pav bhaji remove it some time before, you will get very soft bread.
Preparation time: 40 mins.
